Duarte, CA – May 17, 2024 – The Duarte Unified School District Board of Education is pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Nadia Hillman as the district’s new Superintendent of Schools, subject to approval of a written agreement on the terms of her appointment. Having served in our district for the past seven years as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Dr. Hillman has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of our educational community’s needs. With Dr. Hillman being a current employee of the district, her appointment reflects the Board’s confidence in her abilities and dedication.
By appointing a qualified internal candidate, the Board avoids a lengthy and expensive process sometimes attendant to finding a suitable successor to a current Superintendent.
The Board will present Dr. Hillman’s contract for approval at a subsequent public meeting, affirming our commitment to transparency in this significant decision.
