Parent Resources

The California Parent and Youth Helpline provide support and resource referrals to parents and youth during the current COVID-19 pandemic, 7-days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Call or text 1-855-4APARENT (855-427-2736) for services in English, Spanish, and other languages.  For more information, please visit: https://caparentyouthhelpline.org/ 
 
Homework Hotline - The Harvey Mudd College Homework Hotline is a free over-the-phone math and science tutoring service for students in grades 4 through 12. They’re open five nights per week, Sunday through Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. PST. 
 
 

You can get free homework help from a live, online tutor. All you need is your LA County Library card and PIN number, and an internet connection. You can use Online Homework Help from home, school, and even the Library.

Do I need a library card to access free Wi-Fi at the participating libraries?

You do not need to have a library card to connect to our Wi-Fi.

2. Do I need a car to use Wi-Fi at the participating libraries?

You do not need a car to use the Wi-Fi outside the participating libraries. If you do not have a car, find a place to sit within 25 feet of the library while ensuring you are keeping at least 6 feet distance from those around you. Masks are required if you are sitting outside.

3. Is Wi-Fi access filtered?

Yes, Wi-Fi access is filtered for all users by order of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. Filtering cannot be removed.

4. What do I do if I cannot connect?

Library staff can confirm that the wireless network is functioning properly and give basic assistance. Call the library location you are parked at for assistance. Staff cannot assist in setting up personal laptops or devices to work with Wi-Fi.

Draw Everyday With JJK - Jarret J. Krosoczka, illustrator of graphic novel series Lunch Lady and Star Wars Jedi Academy, has started daily illustration lessons for beginners on his YouTube channel.
